FEATURED WORK

The work, and the standard behind it

Sutton Digital Works builds websites for commercial security integrators. Hand-coded, fast, and built to keep earning years after launch. Below are a live rebuild with its numbers and two complete demonstration builds you can click through right now.

CASE STUDY · LIVE REBUILD AND CUTOVER · REMOTE TECH SUPPORT COMPANY

Sutton Tech Support

A live WordPress site rebuilt from scratch and cut over in eleven seconds, with the rollback script written before the switch was thrown.

Full disclosure in the first line: Sutton Tech Support is my own company. I was the client on this one.

That is exactly why I can show you all of it. On your build I would never publish your internals. On mine I can publish the before state, the defect list, the verification counts, and the parts that are still unmeasured. Every number on this page is real.

The reframe

Your crew does not rip a working panel off the wall before the replacement passes test. You stage it, you prove it, and you leave the old one live until it earns its way out.

That is how I move a website.

Before (measured August 20, 2026, four days before cutover)

  • Built on a page builder. Seven pages.
  • Ranked for zero keywords nationally. Not few. Zero.
  • The home page and the plans page carried the identical H1, so search engines saw two pages making the same claim.
  • A service page that used to be indexed had been deleted with no redirect, so anyone who still had the link hit a dead end.

The build

  • Hand-coded theme. No page builder. Eleven pages plus a branded 404.
  • Type sized for who actually reads it. This site's customers are mostly over 65, so every line of content is set at 18px or larger against a 16px accessibility floor, and every rendered size was measured in a real browser rather than read off the stylesheet.
  • Zero accessibility violations across twelve pages at two screen widths, measured with axe, not eyeballed.
  • One H1 per page, no heading skips, structured data hand-written instead of plugin-generated.
  • Zero horizontal overflow at 360, 375, 414 and 500 pixels wide, on every page. That check is now permanent and runs on every future change.

The cutover

  • A complete staging copy ran on the live server, visible only to me, while the public site stayed untouched.
  • The rollback script was written and in place before the flip, not after.
  • The flip itself: twenty steps, eleven seconds, every step exiting clean.
  • 306 verification checks, run twice, before and after, plus an independent check from outside my own network.
  • The old theme was retired to backups, not deleted. For thirty days the site could go back to it in under five minutes, and it never had to.

Measured after launch

Page speed, Google PageSpeed Insights, mobile, home page, measured September 2, 2026 in three runs: performance 84, 88 and 84 out of 100, up from 70 before the rebuild. Accessibility 100, up from 93. Largest content paint 3.8 seconds, down from 4.8. Not where I want it yet, and it goes here anyway, better or worse.

What I am not claiming

Search rankings take months and this site went live on August 24, 2026. The honest version of this page six months from now will carry numbers this one does not have. That is the point of dating it.

If you are running a $1M+ integration business, your website is not a brochure, it is the thing a GC's purchasing agent checks before you make the bid list. Moving it should feel like a commissioning job: staged, verified, reversible, and boring on the day.

That is the only way I do it.

Or start with the $497 Website & Marketing Audit. It credits in full toward any build or plan you start within 30 days.

Straight with you: the two sites below are demonstration builds. Ironline Security Systems and Datum Cabling & Networks are not real companies and not real clients. Every page of both says so. Everything you see was designed, written and coded from scratch so you can judge the actual work instead of a list of promises.

DEMONSTRATION BUILD · COMMERCIAL SECURITY INTEGRATOR

Ironline Security Systems

An eight-page site for a commercial security integrator in Fort Worth: video surveillance, access control, intrusion and monitoring. Published pricing on every system, a per-door cost breakdown most integrators have never been shown in writing, and a city page built to rank for “security camera installation.”

DEMONSTRATION BUILD · STRUCTURED CABLING CONTRACTOR

Datum Cabling & Networks

An eight-page site for a structured cabling contractor in Austin: Cat6A, fiber, data center build-out and wireless. Per-drop pricing published in the open, a data center money page, and an Austin city page. Deliberately shares no design DNA with the Ironline build: same builder, two weeks apart.

WHAT THIS BUILD DEMONSTRATES

Four things most contractor sites get wrong

It loads before the customer leaves

No page builder, no theme bloat, no twelve plugins fighting each other. Every graphic on the demo is drawn in code rather than loaded as a photo. The entire five-page site is lighter than a single stock hero image on a typical builder site.

It works on the phone in the truck

Most of your buyers reach you from a phone. The demo keeps the dispatch number and the survey request reachable at every screen size, and the menu is a real menu, not a desktop layout squeezed down until it breaks.

It asks for the job

One clear action, repeated: request a free site survey. Not a contact form buried on a contact page. The survey request is the offer, and every page routes to it.

It respects the license you worked for

A licensed Texas security contractor has advertising obligations a general web designer has never heard of. The demo carries a compliance block in the global footer, so it renders identically on every page without anyone having to remember it.

The detail a general web designer misses

Texas rules for licensed private security companies address what has to appear in a company's advertisements: the company name and address as recorded with the Department, and the license number. The administrative rule is written broadly, covering advertisements in any media. It does not single out websites by name, and reasonable people read the scope differently.

Which is exactly why the demo puts that block in the global footer: it costs nothing, it renders on every page automatically, and it removes the question entirely. That is the difference between a designer who builds websites and one who builds websites for licensed contractors.

To be clear: this is not legal advice. Confirm your own advertising obligations with your counsel or with DPS. If it turns out your site needs that block, adding it takes about five minutes, and it should already have been there.

CURRENT CLIENT WORK

Live campaign management, in flight now

Beyond the build work, Sutton Digital Works currently manages a live Google Ads account for an environmental services contractor: search campaigns, conversion tracking and landing-page work against real spend. That engagement becomes a named case study with real numbers once the data set is large enough to say something honest about it. Numbers get published when they mean something, not before.

HOW A REAL BUILD RUNS

Four steps, fixed price, no surprises

The demo above is the starting point for every build. Your site is not a template drop. It is this standard, applied to your company, your services and your service area.

Discovery

A call about the work you actually want more of, the jobs you would rather stop taking, and who you are really competing against.

Structure

Pages, order and wording agreed before a line of code is written. You approve the plan, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

Build

Hand-coded on a staging URL you can watch. Two revision rounds are included in the price, not billed as extras.

Launch & hold

Go live, then a care plan keeps it patched, backed up, monitored and current. Built for the long haul, not just launch day.
